BOB WASHINGTON, "Voice of K-Tel", Has Passed.

Tuesday, December 13, 2016

Kidoons was saddened to hear about the passing of Bob Washington in December of 2016, after several months of dealing with cancer. Bob came to see our show BOOM on January 16th, 2016, at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage in Vancouver, BC. After the performance, he shared his story about being the first voice of K-Tel records in the 1970s and 1980s. Several audience members gathered around to give him a big round of applause, after he boomed out: "K-Tel presents 24 happening hits!”

Our thanks to Alex Barker, for letting us know of Bob’s passing, and condolences to his family.
We are honoured to still have his story on video to share with Canadians.
Sincerely,
The Kidoons Team.

Note: Bob was a supporter of many charities but a favourite of his was the BC SPCA. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at Canadian Memorial United Church on December 22, 2016. (via Winnipeg Free Press )
