MONEY

MONEY is an epic new stage production mixing avant-garde theatre, original music, multimedia performance art, and emerging technology, conceived and directed by Rick Miller.
Miller will lead a team of collaborators from diverse backgrounds to explore what money is, what it does to us and what we do for it. Today, with unprecedented economic uncertainty in the arts sector, it’s the perfect opportunity for artists to delve into stories of global finance, and learn how to manage its outcomes. Can wealth creation transcend individualism, and better serve the common good? Can we learn to balance our economy and our ecology, both of which share the Greek root “οἶκος”, or “home”? And can we contain the money-driven wave of technological change that we face as a country (and as a species)?

This project is produced by Kidoons and WYRD Production, in association with Canadian Stage and BMO Lab*

Development began in 2022, and will continue through 2024, with a World Premiere scheduled in 2025
