IN DEVELOPMENT: BOOM X, the 1970-1995 follow-up to BOOM

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

Kidoons' Rick Miller is very excited to have jumped into BOOM X, the “GenX” follow-up to our hit show BOOM. It’s the second in a trilogy of solo multimedia performances, which will collectively span 75 years of history, politics, culture, and technology on our planet. BOOM X picks up where BOOM left off, at Woodstock in August of ‘69, and takes us all the way to 1995, when the internet began to dominate our lives. Over the course of 100 minutes, Miller will play over 100 colourful characters from the era, covering the Cold War, Reaganomics, the PC, VHS, video games, punk, disco, the (2nd) British invasion, and much more.

We’ll be developing BOOM X at Ex Machina’s La Caserne in Quebec City in February 2018, and at Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity in March 2018. Stay tuned for news about the Jan 2019 world premiere.

And if you have a story to share about 1970-1995, please add to our oral history project at encyclopediacanada.com/stories.
