Protecting the Redside Dace: A Water Wonderful World Adventure
Toronto Zoo & Conservation Partners
Created in partnership with Toronto Zoo, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, Swim Drink Fish Canada, and the W. Garfield Weston Foundation, in association with The 20K Collective, this educational project combines animated storytelling with engaging activity books in English and French.
Featuring beloved characters Grandfather Frog and Captain Nemo, the animated adventure introduces young audiences to the Redside Dace, a threatened fish species native to Ontario. Through humour, storytelling, and interactive learning activities, the project raises awareness about endangered species, healthy waterways, and the impact of human development on aquatic ecosystems.
The accompanying bilingual activity books extend the learning experience, inspiring children and families to explore biodiversity, appreciate local wildlife, and take action to protect our environment.
