The classic tale of creation, re-imagined for the 21st century, created by Paul Van Dyck, Rick Miller, and Craig Francis. There are three central characters in her story: Dr. Frankenstein, The Creature, and Elizabeth. There are also three characters in the creation of her story during a ghost story competition: Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, and Mary Shelley herself.
“How does one bring something new to life?” is our central metaphor: the Doctor staring at his Creature, the writer staring at her page, the theatre artist staring at the stage, and the viewer looking at the "black mirror" of an empty screen. Our creative team, working with theatrical and digital expressions, will be challenged to invent new ways to embrace the potential of this romantic and horrifying proto-science fiction story.
