Kids and parents get online together!
KIDOONS provides a safe and defined network of web experiences that reflects how people actually use the internet – skipping from story to story, site to site, and game to game – without leaving the safety of the KIDOONS Network. In this time of explosive growth of minors using the internet, we attempt to deal with issues in an age-appropriate manner, without shielding them from realities or having parents and kids living in a state of ignorance or fear.
Our goal is not only to make e-learning fun but to help responsibly guide the next online generation. KIDOONS strives to encourage parents and children to get online together, to learn the fundamentals of computer usage, and to achieve a state of safe, savvy surfing.
Net Safety
The Net Safety campaign from KIDOONS features animated, talking banners delivering tips on safe surfing and computer ‘net-iquette’ on the front page of websites. The characters are familiar from the stories and fairytales and immediately engage attention.Live Safely
This real-life tips campaign from KIDOONS features contextual messages that can be utilized by teachers, parents, and kids as general safety resources. For instance, AnimatedHalloween.com features “Halloween Safety Tips” in web text, downloadable PDF, and entertaining animated Flash film formats.Age-Appropriate Content
KIDOONS makes every effort to create a safe surfing environment for kids, and a comfort zone for their parents and guardians, by featuring relevant and appropriate content. Websites in the KIDOONS Netsphere are compliant with guidelines set by ICRA (Internet Content Rating Association), and have been recommended by sites such as Netmom, Schoolnet, and Family First.Privacy and Personal Information
In addition to instructing kids on the real dangers of sharing personal information over the internet (see Net Safety, above), KIDOONS maintains a policy regarding collecting information to access features that respects the privacy of children, and does not collect any more personal information than reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in the activities and services we offer at our Web sites.Click here to join our KIDOONS parents newsletter
