Little Red Riding Hood

The best thing about summer is being able to go outside and go on little adventures. The best is when your camping and you decide to step off your campsite and venture off to see what you can find in the woods. You can come across all sorts of things animal homes, broken trees that are great for climbing and things that have been left behind from the people who previously walked the path. What makes it all so much nicer is the sound of the animals scurrying around you.

One important thing to remember while walking through the woods is to of course make sure that you do not talk to any strangers and most importantly do not tell them anything about yourself. Look what happened to poor Little Red Riding Hood. She talked to a stranger while in the woods and duh, duh, duh!

Getting organized for back to school?

What a week! There were so many gatherings it was crazy! KIDOONS is slowly getting their minds around having to go back to school. Every year it's one of things that you try to postpone so we have created a list for you to make the task just a little bit easier.

The best way to know where to start on what has to get done is creating a To-Do List and crossing the items off as they get completed.

Get ready for the night before. If you get ready the night before, you will be less likely to forget to do something during the morning rush. Most importantly don't forget your keys!

Give everyone a different colored bag to put his or her stuff for the day in. This is helpful so you'll know what you're giving to whom.

That is it for now. Since well it is still summer and you don't want to start feeling overwhelmed just yet. Go out and enjoy the summer air.

Our eyes are playing tricks on us!

The weather can sometimes make us believe that we are going just a tad crazy. It mostly happens in the summer when we have the hot sun continuously shining down on us. So exciting and so nerve racking! Back to school already? It feels like we just started the summer. How are you feeling about starting classes again?

KIDOONS is personally excited for all the returning students this fall. All new classes, teachers, schedule, locker, so many new friends to be made and not to mention learning new things each and every day.

Here are a few tips to help you get through the new school year:

•    Get enough sleep.
•    Eat a healthy breakfast.
•    Try your best.
•    Use good work habits, like writing down your assignments and turning in your homework on time.
•    Take your time with schoolwork. If you don't understand something, ask the teacher.
Our last piece of advice: Listen in class and have tons of fun with your old and new friends during recess.

What do you call a baby goat? A kid!

Do any of you go the same school as your brothers or sisters?

KIDOONS has many brothers and sisters and we make sure that when we see someone being mean to one of them we protect them. You should do the same! Especially if you have a younger brother or sister who goes to the same school as you. Grunter is the perfect example. On their way to find fields of grass and clover the three goats run into the troll. The troll being the bully that he is gives the littlest goat Gimlet a hard time about crossing the bridge. That's when the big goat Grunter takes a stand and uses is big voice to talk to the troll to scare him away from is two little brothers.

Welcome Home!

Welcome home! I'm sure this weekend will be all about catching up with friends you haven't seen in a while. That's what KIDOONS plans on doing anyways. We were thinking of taking out our bikes and going for a bike ride to have a picnic somewhere we could laugh and play with our friends. How do you like to catch up with old friends?

We wish you tons of fun for what will be one of the last weekends enjoy the summer freedom.

What were some of your favorite summer memories? I'm sure some stand out more than others. Was it that winning goal at the end of your soccer game, going to the water parks, camping out in the wilderness or was it that big pool party bash at the end of the summer?

Whatever it is that you did we hope that 2011 was a good summer for you! Imagine is summer was 2011 days? That would be amazing. That means that it would last longer than the year itself.

We like to make our summer memories last, since well it isn't 2011 days. But to make the memories last forever we make sure to keep all of our pictures in a very special place, so that the memories will stay with us forever! You should do the same get an old shoe box and decorate with pictures of what made your summer so special and then put all things that you've collected over the summer inside.

Piece of advice: if you decided to collect bugs or frogs we suggest not bringing them in the house. They prefer the outdoors.

Who's your bestfriend?

A person can find their bestfriend in so many places. It can be your mother, father, classmate, aunt, or uncle the list can go on forever! A bestfriend is usually someone who demonstrates many acts of kindness towards you.

Have you ever demonstrated an act of kindness to someone you didn't know all that well because you knew they needed help? Unfortunately, we all don't do this. Everyone needs a friend to look out for them. You can almost say every once in a while we should act like The Willfull Little Breeze.

If you ever hear anyone talking about making trouble make sure you warn someone. It is usually best to tell an adult. Help make both you and your friends' environment a little bit safer.

What is your after school routine?

The first week or weeks of school are under way. What did you enjoy most about starting the new school year? More importantly: what are you looking forward to in this year's upcoming school year? 1. Make studying fun: Studying can get very boring, so make it fun! Make flashcards and get your family to help you with them. Also, another thing that makes studying a bit more fun is change the place where you're studying. What we mean is try studying at the library 2-3 nights a week to make it more interesting. Plus, they have a lot of helpful and interesting books.

2. Do something that is not related to school: It's always fun to do something that is not related to school. Play some games at the KIDOONS network!

3. Make friends with everyone: Sure you have your BFFs that you celebrated with not too long ago, but why not try and make some more friends to join you and your BFFs.

One of our favorite holidays is Halloween! For many, many reasons and one of them being the spooky stories. Once a year we like to hear one or two screams. Which is why we love telling spooky stories. Do you have a really good spooky story that you always tell?

Here are some important steps to make sure you get a scare out of your friends:

1. Find out what your friends are really scared of. To make it part of the story.

2. Make sure you know it well - The better you know the story, the more you can act it out for extra spookiness points.

4. Build up the spookiness - Throughout the story make scary noises and really scary faces.

5. MAKE IT SCARY! - The scarier the better! Just remember that you are telling your friends the story. You don't want to scare them that much.

What a terrifying delight, enjoy!

Pumpkin Seed Chips

On Monday get your classmates in the Halloween spirit by brining in a Spooky Snack. When you make your pumpkin seed chips! With the help of an adult make so favorite is pumpkin seed chips. After your mom or dad is done carving the pumpkin, go through the goo and get out all the seeds.

Rinse them well in cold water. Put them in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or cooking oil - mix well. Ask your adult to turn on the stove to 325F degrees. DO NOT TUNR ON A STOVE BY YOURSELF, EVER! Time out 25 minutes. The seeds should be golden brown. Ask your adult to take them out. Let them cool. Make sure to wait a couple of minutes before eating them they are going to be hot!

Put them in a plastic container for a spooky snack!

Did you go anywhere over the holidays?

Being a princess isn't only about living in a castle. Princess Viaggio has been extremely busy traveling around the world and sightseeing. She always enjoys traveling. Traveling is also educational, as Princess Viaggio gets to visit different places and see different cultures and, most importantly, different fashions! On this trip she saw the great Sphynx in Egypt, the Taj Mahal Palace in India, the Tower Bridge in London, the San Basilio Cathedral in Moscow, the Opera House in Australia, the Plaza de Espana in Spain.
